The New Bmw M3 Cs

The New Bmw M3 Cs

BMW is rumored to already be developing a CS (Competition Sport) version of the latest-generation G80 M3.

Those in the market for the new M3 have a choice between standard or Competition specification, but the CS will push the performance envelop even further. It will also be the most expensive version of the iconic sports sedan.

BMW Blog understands that the German automaker will follow a similar recipe with other CS models, such as the M2 CS and M5 CS, by stripping out some weight from the M3. Most savings will probably come from the fitment of various carbon fiber parts, while it's possible that the M3 CS will be rear- instead of all-wheel drive.

Like other CS models, BMW can be expected to make some modifications to the Competition's 503 hp 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine as well, probably adding somewhere in the region of 10 to 20 additional horses. That may not sound like a lot but when combined with a series of suspension and braking upgrades, it should result in the CS being notably faster around a racetrack.

The report fails to mention whether or not the M4 will also get the same treatment, but as the previous M3 and M4 both received CS versions, we don't see why the new generation M4 won't also receive a lightweight, track-focused variant.

BMW Blog doesn't state when we could see the new CS launch, but a handful of prototypes of what is probably a hotter version of the M4 have been spied testing in recent months, indicating that it might not be very far away.
